Chief James E. Wild Pigeon Waters

 

Born in 1873. He the son of Chief John M. Waters. He was an interpreter of Indian Dialects. He was Montaukett Chief from 1914 to 1924.

In 1925 he was on the New England Council with the Wampanoag and Narragansett tribes.

The last three years of his life was devoted to the struggle to save his family's Indian Burial Ground in Little Neck. James passed away September 3rd, 1927.
